Schwäbisch Hall, drawn in ink and graphite

This view of the half-timbered houses overlooking the Kocher river was made (starting from a photo I took years ago on the spot ) to test some new "extra fine" and "super fine" brush pens just bought. With the addition of some graphite blended with the paper stumps.

Schwäbisch Hall is a truly wonderful medieval town, located deep in the Baden Wuerttemberg between Stuttgart and Wuerzburg, on the banks of the Kocher River. Marvelous half-timbered houses, towers and covered wooden bridges characterize the entire historic center.

The medieval lakeside town of Rapperswil (in gray tones)

I have not yet managed to complete an old painting with Rapperswil and its lake fauna as I wanted, but at least ... here is a slightly modified version in the grey tones of ink and graphite. With two kingfisher in the foreground and a glimpse of light on the city in the background (glimpse of light I saw on another beautiful lake ... but that's another story, for a future painting).

Ink and pencil: traditional garments (Tracht) of the Black Forest (around 1840)

An old Clock Carrier ("Uhrentraeger") from Triberg (clock making was a tradtional occupation of the Black Forest: the clocks were then carried with backpacks to sometimes distant areas) and a costume typical of the Baar region. Drawings with brush pens and liners.
